SUCCESSES FOR MBC MEMBERS IN ESSEX EVENTS, 2010/11
At the Essex AGM on May 7th 2011, a number of members of Mountnessing Bridge Clubs received trophies and other awards for their achievements in 2010/11.Two members were rewarded with a presentation of the 'Good Friend of Bridge' certificate for their services over a number of years:
- Jill Tattersfield recently retired as the County's Webmaster, after ten years in the role. She oversaw both the the initial set-up of the first version of the website, and also managed the recent transition to the more modern 'BridgeWebs' based version. Additionally, for 13 years Jill was responsible for the catering for all home matches in the Eastern Counties League - that is the inter-county competition. She was also a very active member of the ECBA committee throughout this period.
- Roger Tattersfield recently retired as the County's League Secretary, ably supported by Jill. During Roger's period of tenure, several new innovations were introduced, including The League Cup, the Premier league (an end-of-season play-off between leading teams from the two geographic-based leagues), and a Novice League, which helped to introduce a new group of players to teams-of-four Bridge.
So far as the trophies are concerned, pride of place goes jointly to Jill Tattersfield, who won the (Ladies') Eve Goblets Trophy as the most successful woman player in Essex Events throughout the year, and to Simon Moorman who won the men's equivalent.
