ERROR MESSAGES EXPLAINED

We hope that you have an enjoyable and trouble-free experience browsing this website.  However, being realistic, things sometimes go wrong. Here is a summary of the main possible errors, and what might have caused them and how you can help to rid this site of problems.

Error Message		Comments
404 - Page Not Found	Sample	The most likely explanation is that you have tried to access a page that has been relocated, renamed, or restructured. Alternatively, there may be a problem with your browser settings that has caused the 'calling page' not to have refreshed properly. Please follow the instructions within the message if you see this error.
401 - Authorisation Required	Sample	You have tried to access a page that is restricted to club members but you have not provided a valid username and / or password. Please follow the instructions within the message if you see this error.
403 - Access Denied	Sample	This comment will sound a bit melodramatic and like something out of James Bond - but it is only marginally exaggerated! For some years I have been fighting a 'cyber war' against some unsavoury characters, who appear to be variously based in Russia, China, Ukraine, Chile, France, the Netherlands, .... and who have been repeatedly attempting to use this website to promote their own ulterior interests. If you see this message then it could mean that your computer has been seriously compromised - unless, of course, you know that you are one of these unsavoury characters! If you know that you are innocent, you should check your firewall and other malware protection, run a full scan, and also please let me know immediately on abuse@mountnessingbridgeclub.org.uk.
500 - Internal Server Error	Sample	The most likely explanation for this error is that a recent update to this website went horribly wrong.
